Yosef Tekoah, Israel’s new Ambassador, arrived here today from New York, where he had been his country’s acting permanent representative at the United Nations, and was greeted at the airport by several hundred school children and members of the Zionist Youth Movement, as well as by Government protocol officers.
In a brief statement at the airport, Mr. Tekoah declared that Israel and Brazil share “common ideals which have imprinted upon both countries a strong sympathy and deep understanding.” The new Ambassador is expected to present his letters of credence soon at Brazil’s new capital, Brasilia.
