The new Israeli freighter the SS Teverya arrived in New York harbor this morning on her maiden voyage, the first maiden arrival in the port for the new year.
The 10,300-ton vessel, which carries a 48-man crew commanded by Captain Julian Ronen, was completed in Bremen, West Germany, six months ago for the Zim-Israel Navigation Co. It will enter service for the Pacific Star Line, Zim’s new cargo route between U.S. east coast ports, Japan, the Philippines and Hong Kong.
