David T. Willentz, local attorney and Democratic political leader, was sworn in as Attorney General of New Jersey today. He is the first Jew ever to hold this office in the state.
A graduate of the New York Law School, Willentz was formerly a reporter on the Perth Amboy Evening News. During the war he served as a lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. He was formerly city attorney in Perth Amboy. The new Attorney General has a most extensive law practice and is known for his aggressiveness and able leadership. He was the leader of the New Jersey State delegation at the last national Democratic convention.
In addition to his general activity in civic affairs, Mr. Willentz is a member of Shaarey Tefiloth Congregation and chairman of the local Y.M.H.A. drive. He is thirty-eight years old and married.
