J.A. Colescott of Atlanta, new imperial wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, said today in Miami that he did not “intend to tolerate” such methods of intimidation as the burning of crosses and parades of white-robed figures through Negro sections, the Associated Press reported.
“I would rather see the Klan disorganized than see it continue its old policy of anti-Semitism, anti-Catholicism or anti-alienism,” colescott said. “Jews have equal rights under the Constitution, and as far as the Klan is concerned, they are entitled to those rights.”
