A new library dedicated to the heroes and martyrs who fought and died for democracy and freedom will be named in memory of Stefano Michael Tache Gaj, the two-year-old Jewish child killed in the terrorist attack on Rome’s main synagogue on October 9, 1982 in which 37 other persons were wounded.
The library, containing books on the Mussolini era and the Nazi occupation of Italy, will be inaugurated on December I in the Rome offices of the Italian National Association of Families of Martyrs (ANFIM). The organization has declared Stefano to be an innocent martyr in the struggle for human dignity which claimed the lives of many of his forebears and which continues in the post-war world.
