Ambassador David Rivlin, Consul General of Israel in New York, has been appointed Israel’s Ambassador to Norway, Rivlin, who informed the JTA today of his new appointment, will assume the new post at the beginning of the summer. It is not known yet who will replace Rivlin here.
Rivlin has been serving as Consul General in New York for the last four years. He was a political advisor to former Foreign Minister Abba Eban and was an official spokesman and director of press relations at the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem. His previous assignments abroad included the post of Consul General in Montreal. Rivlin was born in Jerusalem and is a sixth generation “sabra.”
