Israeli forces will begin a new phase of their withdrawal from south Lebanon this Sunday, it was announced today. The pullback will be in the western sector of the front which, until now, has been held by Israeli forces surrounding the terrorist enclave at Tyre. It will be preliminary to Israel’s withdrawal to a six-mile deep security belt along the Lebanese-Israel border which was the original objective of the Lebanese operation that began March 15.
