Betterment of the situation of the Jewish population in Bessarabia, the Russian province annexed to Roumania, was promised by M. Niza, the new Roumanian Minister for Bessarabia, to two Jewish delegations which appeared before him yesterday.
One delegation, representing the general Jewish community, and the other consisting of Zionist leaders, presented the case of the Jewish population to the new Minister who promised to favorably consider the needs of the Jewish population and to annul the order of the Bessarabian authorities which prohibited the use of Yiddish at public functions.
