Some 15,000 youths attended the fifth annual Shomria jamboree of the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement which ended Saturday night with the announcement that eight new Hashomer Hatzair settlements would be established in various parts of the country. The four-day gathering of the Mapam-affiliated movement was held in the Judaean hills. Addressing the participants, Education Minister Aharon Yadlin stressed the importance and relevance of the pioneering spirit “which found its first expression in the Hashomer Hatzair movement.”
