Several thousand administrative and service workers of the Histadrut Sickfund today staged a one-hour warning strike to emphasize their demands for better wages and other social improvements. If their demands are not met, they are threatening to conduct a longer and total strike. There was some relaxation, however, in labor relations since all striking hospital employes and electric power station workers returned to work. Customs and airport officials now threaten to stage a general strike. A Histadrut survey revealed that during 1970, the Israeli economy suffered a loss of an equivalent of 390,000 working days through strikes: Secondary school teachers, 190,000 days, nurses, 40,000 days. Of these strikes, 62 were approved by Histadrut, 73 were not, and the circumstances of 20 others were unclear.
