The Home Office yesterday published a new White Paper detailing categories of aliens from enemy countries who henceforth will be exempted from internment.
The new White Paper follows announcement by Home Secretary Sir John Anderson in the House of Commons on Thursday of important modifications in the Government’s internment policy, which had been subjected to severe criticism in the press and Parliament. It considerably extends the 18 exemption categories listed in the July 31 White Paper on internment of aliens.
