New York Banks, Law Firms Charged with Bias Against Jews

Rep. Abraham J. Multer, New York Democrat, told the House Banking Committee here that despite New York State’s FEPC law Jews and Negroes qualified for responsible posts are being discriminated against by banks and law firms in New York.

Rep. Multer said that, as a Jew, he knew something about discrimination and that passing a law would not end it if the law is administered poorly or if many people evade it.
