Officials representing six banks in the New York area left Israel today to participate in the 1958 Bankers’ Study Mission, it was announced here by Gottlieb Hammer, executive director of the Jewish Agency, who organized the group. The present mission is part of a continuing program begun in 1949.
The group which is visiting Israel at the invitation of the Jewish Agency will study the country’s economic and industrial development as well as its immigration and colonization program. During their stay, members of the mission will be given the opportunity to observe the operations of the Jewish Agency in the fields of rehabilitation, housing and agricultural development and to study problems facing the Agency. All banks represented in this year’s study mission have cooperated with the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York.
The following will participate in the 1958 Bankers’ Study Mission: John J. Kubach, vice president of the Bankers Trust Company; Philip H. Milner, vice president of the Manufacturers Trust Company; George B. Moran, vice president of the Hanover Bank; William S. Renchard, executive vice president of the Chemical Corn Exchange Bank; George C. Scott, vice president of the First National City Bank; Joseph M. Walsh, vice president of the Chase Manhattan Bank.
