The first of a series of “goodwill afternoons” to interest women in joining the new Park West chapter of the Women’s Division of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies, will be held this afternoon at the home of Mrs. Leonard M. Wallstein, 270 West End Avenue. Mrs. Irwin Untermyer is chairman of the Park West chapter.
Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Lewisohn and their two daughters sailed today on the Manhattan. Mr. Lewisohn is a member of the American delegation to the International Labor Conference at Geneva.
The women’s league of the Institutional Synagogue, 37 West 116th Street, will celebrate this afternoon a “Seeyum” on the Five Books of Moses. A luncheon will be given by the league at the home of Mrs. Harry M. Millstein in honor of the completion of the study of the Bible, a ten-year course, under direction of Rabbi Herbert S. Goldstein.
The Y.M.H.A. Cinema Guild will give its tenth and final program of its first year tonight. “China Express” and “The Master of Existence”, a Soviet marionette musical short, are on the bill at the Ninety-second Street Y.M.H.A.
Isaac Allen, chairman of the League for Jewish National Labor in Palestine, will address a rally tonight of volunteer workers who will participate in Flower Day on May 25 and 26. The rally will be held at the Center, 122 Second Avenue.
The Bronx Menorah and Avukah societies of Hunter College will jointly present movies on Palestine in the Gillet Auditorium of the college tomorrow.
