Gov. Averill Harriman today designated next Sunday, March 20, “World Jewish Child’s Day” in this state, at special ceremonies at the Executive Mansion here.
The Governor received a delegation from Hadassah, Pioneer Women, and Mizrachi Women, on behalf of the Youth Aliyah movement, sponsor of the Day. The Governor received a gift from the children of Israel, a hand-carved olive wood antelope, which was presented by 10-year-old Jacqueline Senehi, who arrived in the U.S. from Iran several years ago.
