Construction work was begun today for a new, three-story, $500, 000 wing to expand the facilities and exhibition space of the Jewish Museum of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Cornerstone laying ceremonies were held yesterday for the new wing, to be named the Albert A. List Building, in honor of the donor.
The new structure will increase exhibit space by 9,000 square feet, provide space for expansion of the Tobe Pacscher Workshop of Ceremonial Art, a textile workshop and a permanent children’s area. A feature of the new structure will be a glass facade and special lighting to enable passersby to see exhibits from the street.
