Mayor Robert F. Wagner has proclaimed tomorrow, June 10, “Colonel David Marcus Memorial Day” in New York in a ceremony at City Hall.
The “day” was set aside in tribute to the late Col. “Mickey” Marcus, West Point graduate who lost his life in action in Jerusalem toward the end of the War of Liberation. Tomorrow night a dinner will be held in honor of Col. Marcus, onetime Assistant United States Attorney and Commissioner of Correction in New York by the Marcus Memorial Foundation, set up to perpetuate his memory as a public official, war here and private citizen. Tomorrow is the sixth anniversary of his death.
