Jack D. Weiler, UJA leader, has been named chairman of a group of 19 of New York’s leading philanthropists who have been elevated to newly created positions as trustees of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York. All are veterans of the top leadership of the New York UJA drives.
Monroe Goldwater, president of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York, announced creation of the trustees. They will start their activities by aiding in preparations for the 20th annual New York UJA drive, scheduled to begin next month. The organization’s board of directors has charged the trustees with special responsibilities in planning its yearly fund-raising campaigns and in encouraging the practice of making bequests in wills to further UJA’s work.
