A newly-constructed day nursery, operated by Pioneer Women, the Women’s Labor Zionist Organization of America, was opened recently in Kiryat Shmoneh, Israel’s northernmost development town in Upper Galilee. The nursery, which can accommodate 85 children, was the project of Mrs. Leah Neiman and her late husband, Thomas, both of Los Angeles. Mrs. Neiman, a past president of the Los Angeles Council of Pioneer Women, attended the opening of the one-story structure. Pioneer Women operate more than 300 day child care centers throughout Israel.
