“The development of Palestine is fundamental to the renaissance of teh Near East”, said Rabbi Louis I. Newman of Temple Rodeph Sholom, New York, speaking before the Hundson Valley Zionist Region here last night.

“The new Jewish sttlers ar achieving a veritable miracle in the Holy Land. They come with properity for Arab, Christian and Jew alike. Not only is Palestine essential as a refuge for presecuted and exiled Jewish communities, but also it is essential to the preservation of Jewish values in the modern world.

“The new Palestine is a bridge between energy, man power and vision, the Near East can recover its past glory as a center of civilization. Great Britain is to be commended for her wise administration of the Mandate entrusted to her by the doors to Germans and East European Jews who are seeking asylum from their oppressors. The world owes this minimum of opportunity for stricken and harassed Israel.”
