Nine Jewish charitable organizations received bequests totaling $23,500 from the late Miss Josephine Jacobs, who died July 16, 1933. Miss Jacobs’ estate was appraised yesterday at the New York State Transfer Tax Department at $576,717 gross and $536,531 net.
Following are the organizations receiving bequests: Montefiore Hospital for Chronic Diseases, Hebrew United Charities, National Jewish Hospital for Consumptives of Denver, Colo., Home for Aged and Infirm Hebrews, Mount Sinai Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital Association, the Social Service Department of Beth Israel Hospital, Home for Hebrew Infants, and Convalescent Home for Hebrew Children in Rockaway Park, L. I.
Miss Jacobs left $30,000 to her sister, Leonora Jacobs, $10,000 each to a nephew, Stanley Jacobs, and a niece, Mildred Linburr, and $23,200 to other relatives, friends and servants. The residuary estate is to be divided equally among her brothers, Solomon and William Jacobs, Ralph Jacobs, and a nephew, Henry Gerstle.
