Nine Moscow Jews Arrested

Nine Jews demonstrating to protest the denial of visas were arrested outside the Mayakovsky subway station in Moscow today, the National Conference for Soviet Jewry reported.

The NCSJ also reported that the telephones of eight Jewish activists in Moscow have been disconnected- A NCSJ spokesman told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that telephone contacts with the eight could not be completed this morning.

They were identified as Mark Azbel, Don Roginsky, Alexander Lunts and Victor Brailovsky, all scientists or mathematicians who recently ended a 15-day hunger strike to protest the denial of visas Mark Nashpits, Kirill Khenkin and a person surnamed Galperina, all scientists; and Natan Feingold, an artist.
