In telegrams to an area-wide NCJW meeting here Tuesday and to a luncheon meeting today of the Executive Committee of the NCJW at its national headquarters in New York, the President often the Council’s “dedicated participation in civic affairs and volunteer community services” for almost 80 years, and added that “the Council has, through its many worthwhile endeavors, sought to promote the kind of human compassion, dignity and justice that are basic to lasting harmony and progress.”
