The Council of the League of Nations has taken no action in regard to the bill amending the numerus clausus passed by the Hungarian Parliament or the petitions of the Joint Foreign Committee and the Alliance Israelite, Lucien Wolf, secretary of the Joint Foreign Committee, stated in an interview with the representative of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

“It could not indeed do so,” Mr. Wolf said, “since it is not in session. The last meeting of the Council ended on March 10, four days before the amending bill became law, and there will be no further meeting until June 4. Nor is it quite true to state that no action has been taken on the petitions of the Joint Foreign Committee and the Alliance Israelite. It was in consequence of such acton that the Hungarian Government resolved to introduce its amending bill. The Joint Foreign Committee will consider at its next meeting whether any further action before the Council of the League is necessary,” Mr. Wolf declared.
