Official figures on the participation of Jews in the Soviet Government were made public here today in an official announcement.
The announcement came in connection with an agitation conducted against Jews who occupy responsible positions in Soviet Russia. It is announced that of the 15 Peoples’ Commissars not a single one is a Jew. Of the 581 members of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party only 30 are Jews; of the 209 members of the Moscow Soviet Executive only 14 are Jews. Only 11 Jews are among the 105 members of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party.
Only 30,000 Jews are members of the Communist Party, which has a membership of over a million. The Jewish population in Russia amounts to 11 percent of the Russian population, while the number of Jewish officials in Soviet positions amounts to 8 per cent.
