In view of reports which have been circulated that a secret numerus clausus is being introduced into Vienna University, the head of the Medical College has issued a statement declaring that it has been decided to exclude foreign students whose matriculation certificates are not good and those in whose native countries it will not be possible for them to practice with their Vienna Doctorate.
This step is being taken because the Professors of Anatomy have complained that there are too many students at the University and that it is therefore impossible to give the necessary attention to each of the students.
There is, however, the statement declares, no question of rejecting foreign students on any religious, national or political grounds.
