Israel and Norway share “a common vision of the cooperative workers society, fraternity among peoples and peace between nations,” Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion said tonight at a farewell dinner for Norway’s Premier Einar Gerhardsen. The Norwegian Prime Minister, accompanied by his wife and 15-year-old son, completed a week’s state visit to Israel with a statement highly laudatory of Israel’s “dynamism and pioneering spirit.”
Mr. Ben-Gurion told Mr. Gerhardsen of Israel’s high appreciation for Norway’s authors, explorers, thinkers and people; He expressed his gratitude to the Norwegians “who showed supreme courage in the struggle against the Nazis,” and expressed the hope that the “political and ideological bonds between our countries and peoples will be strengthened.”
