David Givatovski, one of the largest Russian industrialists of pre-war days and a famous philanthropist, died at Nice. Burial will take place in the cemetery of Pere-Lachaise in Paris.
In 1917, soon after the Russian Provisional Government proclaimed equality of rights for the Jews, Mr. Givatovski presented the Government with a large building and an endowment of a million roubles, to be known as “The House of Liberty.”
Mr. Givatovski also gave considerable sums to the Keren Hayesod.
