The month of November has been proclaimed American Jewish Tercentenary Month in this city by the Commissioners of the District of Columbia.
The proclamation calls “upon all citizens of the District of Columbia to join in marking the American Jewish Tercentenary with public ceremonies and in all other appropriate ways to take part in the observance of this great anniversary.” The document also stresses that “throughout the history of Washington Jews have participated in every facet of our community’s growth and development.”
