The anti-Semitic Poles, especially the hooligan pogromists who call themselves Naras, were happy to get this encouragement from one of the Nazi leaders. According to an announcement in the Gazeta Warszawska, the National Polish Lawyers Association, affiliated with the anti-Jewish National Democratic party, will start blacklisting Poles who retain Jewish attorneys to represent them. In a public appeal, this Association is urging the elimination of Jewish lawyers from practice at the bar in Poland.

The Naras, a combination of Russian Black Hundreds and German Nazis, are continuing their violent physical attacks on the Jews.

The Pilsudski government has given assurances that it is doing all in its power to suppress the organization that has revived the disgraceful antics of the Hallerites in Poland, in 1919. But these assurances lack sincerity since the Minister of a foreign State is permitted not only to engage in propaganda for Nazi-ism but also to spread anti-Semitism. The plight of Polish Jewry is growing ever more tragic since the beginning of the Polish-German political flirtations.

And “Putzy” Hanfstaengl is hurrying to the Harvard celebration. At the last moment he decided to come over here after all. Before leaving Berlin, the friend of Hitler and his press chief, offered a gift to Harvard for a Hanfstaengl scholarship. The condition upon which the gift is offered contains practically an “Aryan” clause, for the winner of the Hanfstaengl scholarship would have to use the money for study in a German college. That would eliminate Jewish students. Besides, what American student would be proud to receive the “Putzy” Hanfstaengl scholarship.

Harvard cannot accept the Hanfstaengl offer.

It will be interesting to watch the conduct of the Hitlerite “envoy” in this country. German propaganda has always been clumsy and stupid. The German people always lost as a result of such propaganda in the end. “Putzy” Hanfstaengl is sure to make a fool of himself, if nothing is done to make him a martyr.
