There is a numerus clausus being enforced in the Secondary schools in Warsaw, limiting the number of Jewish students admitted to each class to four, says the Yiddish daily “Najer Hajnt” here. Several school principals are telling Jewish parents, it declares, that there is no chance of Jewish students being admitted in excess of the 10 per cent. norm, suggesting that this is due to a hint received from the central educational authorities.
There are no restrictions against Jews, however, at the secondary schools in the provincial towns, the paper adds, because these schools are experiencing a severe shortage of students.
