David Goldstein, president of the 1933 Connecticut Senate, became acting governor of the state today as both the chief executive and lieutenant-governor were absent from the state. He will be the acting chief executive for two days.
This is believed to be the first time a Jew has sat in the governor’s chair in Connecticut.
Mr. Goldstein, a Bridgeport attorney, is a Democrat. He is also tax attorney for that city.
