Jewish sources in the Soviet Union reported today that Prof. Benjamin Levich has been denied permission by Soviet authorities to attend a meeting Oct. 9 of the American Electro-Chemical Society in Boston. The Society invited him to address its conference and to accept its 1973 Palladium Medal. (In Boston, a spokesman for the Society said that if Dr. Levich is not allowed to attend the meeting the gathering will conduct an in absentia presentation of the meda.)
Jewish sources in the Soviet Union also reported that Prof.Levich has received a total of 17 invitations from foreign universities and institutions of higher learning to come and lecture to them Meanwhile, he continues to be boycotted by Soviet scientific institutions.
