The Norwegian Government has presented to the Allied Military Tribunal here a special report on the cruelties inflicted by the German occupation forces upon Jews in Norway, it was learned here today.
The report emphasizes that although no Jewish problem existed in Norway and the Jews constituted only a small fraction of the population, the Nazi Government in Berlin ordered their deportation and the confiscation of their property. After enuerating the barbarities committed upon the Jews in Norway, the report says that about one-half of the entire Jewish population in the country was sent to “unknown destinations” by the Gestapo, and only thirteen of them returned to Norway from extermination camps in Germany and Poland after the collapse of the Nazi regime.
Col. Bedrich Eger, Czechoslovak member of the Allied War Crime Commission, today told the correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that he has presented a lengthy report on Nazi mistreatment of Jews in the Protectorate. Specific charges of mass-deportation and mass-extermination of Czechoslovakian Jews are levelled by the Czechoslovak Government against Konstantin von Neurath, former Foreign Minister of Germany, who was appointed by Hitler to head the Protectorate.
