The Berlin Senate disclosed today that Henry Hirte, a civil servant in the Senate’s education department, had been temporarily suspended from office for having made some anti-Semitic remarks. Informed sources said he would probably be suspended indefinitely and face court proceedings. He was in charge of the Department of Schools.
Court officials in Kiel indicated today that an official investigation would be started into reports that Heinrich Krause, a district court Judge here, made serious anti-Semitic remarks in a restaurant. The remarks were initially reported by some of Judge Krause’s colleagues to the court president, who in turn informed the Schleswig-Holstein Justice Ministry which is expected to make an official investigation.
