Although Gilbert Bettman was defeated in his campaign for the United States Senate and Milton Schmidt in his campaign for the Common Pleas Court, a number of Jews will, it is believed, win state and local posts, when the election returns are completed.

Frederick Johnson, candidate for the State Senate and Alfred Mack for the Common Pleas Court, will be victorious, it is indicated. Harry Freiberg, candidate for county treasurer, may overcome his opponent’s lead when the completed returns are tabulated.
