Opponents of immigration in Ohio have sent an urgent telegram to the Senator from his state demanding the formation of an American bloc to fight what the term a “foreign bloc”, and conduct the fight against immigration along the lines of Americanism and anti-Americanism, according to a wire received today from ##abbi S. Goldman, chairman of the Cleveland protest delegation now in Washington. Rabbi Goldman telegraphed that there must be no let-##p on the part of the friends of immigration, for as things stand now Congress can be swayed easily
and the President will not veto the bill if it is passed. All Ohio members of the House of Representatives and the Senate have promised the Cleveland delegation that they will vote against the 1890 census provision and Congressmen Mooney, Crosser and Burten have pledged themselves to vote against the Johnson Bill in its entirety.
