Marking another forward step in the progress of organized Jewish charitable and welfare work in San Francisco, the Eureka Benevolent Society has just moved into its new building in an uptown location, built to meet the growing needs of the institution.
The Eureka society is the social welfare agency of the Federation of Jewish Charities and its new home is directly across the street from Mt. Zion Hospital, a constituent body of the federation. The Eureka was founded in 1850 and is regarded as one of the oldest relief bodies in the United States. Its president is John C. Altman.
