The reopening of the oldest Jewish school for vocational training in France was announced here today by J. Berthet, president of a group interested in the continued existence of the institution; which was established in 1852. The school, known as the “L’Ecole Julve de Travail,” is situated on Rue de Roisiers, in the Jewish quarter of Paris.
The institution will accommodate about 70 students who will be provided with food and clothing during their three-year course, which will train them to “become not only skilled workers but qualified technicians.” The school building was occupied by the Germans until the liberation of Paris and was subsequently used as a shelter for Jewish refugees.
