Purchase of the site for a synagogue-school and a community center, being planned by the Ahavas Chesed orthodox congregation, has been consummated, filing of the warranty transfer in the Mobile probate court disclosed. The price of the property was given as $12,000.
At a recent meeting of the orthodox community, J. W. Olensky was elected president of the newly organized Jewish Community Center and was authorized to purchase a site for the proposed community buildings. Approximately $25,000 is to be spent in remodeling and constructing and annex to the structure purchased, Mr. Olensky stated. The annex is to contain adequately furnished rooms for a club, with ballroom, swimming pool, reading and recreational rooms.
