Oman’s foreign minister told his Israeli counterpart that his country would host regional discussions on water problems when multilateral Middle East talks are resumed. Youssef bin Alawi bin Abdullah made the offer during a meeting Tuesday with David Levy on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in New York. The talks, which brings Israel together with Arab neighbors to discuss such issues as the environment and disarmament, were begun in 1992 and broken off in 1996.
