On March 16th, a monster mass meeting, held under the auspices of the Boston Jewish Congress Committee, protested against the religious persecution in Russia. Principal speakers at the meeting were: Governor Frank G. Allen, Mayor James M. Curley, Senator Frederick Gillett, Senator David I. Walsh, Cardinal O’Connell, Rev. Root, representative of the Federation of Churches, Rabbi H. H. Rubenovitz, Rabbi Henry Levi and a number of others. Samuel Kalesky, chairman, presided.
