One Arab infiltrator was killed and several other Arabs wounded during the last two days in a series of incidents along the Egyptian Israel borders. The infiltrator who was killed was intercepted while attempting to enter Israel in the Beit Jibrin area.
Egyptian troops stationed at Rafia, in the Gaza area, opened up with mortars on Israel military patrols attempting to prevent infiltrators from harvesting fields in Israel territory. The Israelis replied with a heavy curtain of small arms and mortar fire and silenced the Egyptians. Israel has protested the incident to the Israel-Egyptian Mixed Armistice Commission.
Meanwhile, the Israel-Jordan Mixed Armistice Commission censured Israel for an incident on February 16 when, Jordan charged, Israel forces had penetrated Jordan territory near the village of Jabe and had killed one Jordanian and wounded another.
