Only Small Number of Jews Vote Under Present Regulation (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)
Franchise to all members of the Jewish community irrespective of the amount of taxes paid will not be granted, according to a decision taken by the Kehillah Board at its last session.
The proposal advocating the franchise irrespective of the taxes paid was sponsored by the Zionists and the Poale Zionists. It was defeated by a vote of 16 to 15.
Under the present regulation only a few thousand Jews participate in the election of the Kehillah board in Vienna.
