The Executive of the Jewish Agency issued a statement today amending the report that 9,700 immigration certificates were granted by the Palestine government to the Jewish Agency for the coming six months.
Only 7,500 certificates were granted, the statement of the Jewish Agency says. It explains that the Palestine government estimates that 9,700 immigration visas could be issued to Jews in accordance with the absorption capacity of the country, but it actually granted not more than 7,500.
