There are only two synagogues still open in Vilna, a 66-year-old immigrant from that Soviet city, declared here today upon his arrival from Vilna via Vienna and Italy.
The immigrant, H. Kempe, came in a party that included ten other Jews from Budapest. He reported that the larger of the two synagogues has 1,500 men and women worshippers on all Jewish holidays and several minyans daily.
