A law barring real estate or property covenants containing racial or religious restrictions was adopted today by the Ontario Legislative Assembly. The Assembly also started a debate on prohibiting biss in employment with none of the opposition parties officially recording any opposition to passage of an FEPC law.
The Canadian Jewish Congress and the Association for Civil Liberties have been active in pressing for the ban on restrictive covenants and the outlawing of discrimination in employment.
