Oppostion to Proselytizing Non-jews Develops at U.a.h.g. Convention

A proposal that the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, the Reform congregational organization, undertake an active program of proselytizing evoked heated debate today at the biennial assembly of the UAHC. Objections to the strong proposal for such efforts at conversions to Judaism led today to plans for a modified version which would simply welcome “anyone who wishes to embrace the Jewish faith.”
