The 64th annual convention of the Independent Order Brith Abraham opened here today at the Flagler Hotel attended by 900 delegates representing 335 lodges. Grand Master Louis A. Weissman in his annual report called for liberal immigration laws and for the setting up of a federal “Fair Employment Practice Act.”
Mr. Weissman also called upon the U.S. government to grant Israel 150 million dollars under the Marshall Plan. President Truman, in a message to the delegates, warned that Communist imperialism is challenging the rights of people and world peace. The convention will continue for three days.
