On Wednesday, October 31, Mrs. John Smith, vice-president of the National Council of Jewish Women, Brooklyn section, and chairman of the Thrift Shop awarded the prizes to the winners of the Bundle Bridge which was held at the Union Temple on Eastern Parkway. Each guest had been requested to contribute a bundle of clothing, either old or new, suitable for a later sale at the Thrift Shop. The proceeds of the sale are destined to help the budget of the Brooklyn Section of the National Council of Jewish Women. Serving on the committee with Mrs. John Smith were Mrs. Michael G. Appel, Mrs. Philip Prensky, Mrs. Frank Katz, Mrs. Abraham E. Anixter, Mrs. Paul N. Lazarus, Mrs. Sylvan Baar, Mrs. Morris Barbanell, and Mrs. M. Bernstein.

The Sisterhood of the Jamaica Jewish Center is sponsoring a motion picture program at the Jamaica Theatre on November 12, 13, 14 and 15 for the benefit of the scholarship fund. Mrs. Tillie Kahn and Mrs. Sydelle Rosenfeld are in charge of the affair. In addition to the feature picture, “Caravan,” an added attraction, “The Dream of My People,” made in Palestine, will be shown.

Twenty-five children of the Brooklyn Hebrew Orphan Asylum, all of them born in the Richmond Hill-South Ozone section, were the guests of Mrs. Frances Stoloff of South Ozone Park at a very gay and amusing Hallowe’en Party. Mrs. Stoloff is deeply interested in the welfare of the Asylum and its little inmates, and always manages to provide a special treat for the children.

The North Shore section of the National Council of Jewish Women enjoyed a special treat last Monday. Mrs. C. B. Konzelman, field worker of the League of Women Voters of Queens addressed the group in the Flushing Free Synagogue, admonishing her audience to study the campaign issues and to gain an intelligent understanding of the questions that confront the Senate and Congress. Mrs. Max Ringel spoke on Current Jewish events and Mrs. J. M. Frankel on Current World Affairs.

Mmes. Ginsberg, Benenson and Albert served refreshments.
